Jewellery Care

Jewellery Care

Here are a few tips to take care of your Augusta Jewellery pieces:
Store jewellery pieces individually so they don't get damaged, scratched or tangled. Ideally store in a sealable plastic zip lock bag that will keep out the air and reduce oxidisation.

Store away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place.

Avoid water and extreme humidity as this may cause your jewellery to discolour.
Always remove you’re jewellery before sleeping, working out, swimming or bathing.

Avoid contact with lotions, sprays and chemicals (e.g detergents, soap, chlorine, perfumes, makeup, oils, sun creams, hair spray, lotions, deodorant and nail polish removers etc). It’s best to put your jewellery on last after lotions and sprays have dried.

Polish your jewellery gently and occasionally with a soft cloth to remove dirt and help retain the sparkle.

Some of our earring charms are raw brass which will patina (darken) over time. If you prefer your brass charms to look shiny apply a bit of Brasso (or Ketchup or non whitening toothpaste!) rub in very gently and polish with a soft cloth.

We recommend gently adjusting the size of our adjustable rings only once, as re-shaping them continuously or over-adjusting can weaken the metal.
We work hard to ensure that we use only the best quality materials for our jewellery and the majority of our earring posts and hoops are gold plated stainless steel which is hypoallergenic.

All plated items comply with compulsory EU regulations restricting the amount of nickel in jewellery. This states that only a very tiny amount of nickel can be present in the final piece (mass of nickel to total mass must be under 0.05%). Although it’s very rare, allergic reactions can still occasionally occur and we cannot be held responsible for this.  We include the materials used in the product descriptions but if you are in any doubt please contact us.
